The Yamaha HS8I is a 2-way bass-reflex, bi-amplified nearfield studio monitor designed for professionals who demand absolute accuracy in mixing and music production. Equipped with an 8" cone woofer and a 1" dome tweeter, it delivers a wide frequency response of 38Hz–30kHz (-10dB) and 47Hz–24kHz (-3dB). Built on Yamaha’s long-standing reference monitor philosophy, the HS8I reproduces sound exactly as it is, without coloration, allowing engineers to create reliable mixes that translate consistently across playback systems.
Newly Developed Transducers for Precise Sound Imaging:
The HS8I features newly developed transducers engineered for exceptionally smooth and natural frequency response. The highly efficient 1" dome tweeter uses a thick waveguide to minimize vibration and deliver clean, detailed high frequencies up to 30kHz. The ultra-responsive 8" woofer incorporates large, carefully selected magnets and optimized components to produce low-distortion bass with clear, accurate mids, even at higher output levels.
High-Performance Bi-Amplification and Low-Resonance Cabinet:
Powering the HS8I is a precisely matched bi-amp system delivering 75W to the low frequencies and 45W to the high frequencies, providing a total of 120W of high-performance amplification. The amplifier design ensures consistent, high-resolution output with an exceptionally flat response across the entire sound spectrum. The dense MDF enclosure utilizes a traditional three-way mitered-joint construction to minimize resonance, increase durability, and preserve sonic accuracy under demanding studio conditions.
Flexible Installation, Controls, and Connectivity:
Designed for versatile studio and installation environments, the HS8I includes mounting points on four surfaces for flexible placement options. ROOM CONTROL and HIGH TRIM response controls allow fine adjustment to compensate for room acoustics and speaker positioning. For connectivity, XLR and TRS phone jack inputs support both balanced and unbalanced signals, making the HS8I easy to integrate with mixers, audio interfaces, and other professional studio equipment.
