Description
The Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim (EP40) is a sampler, sequencer and composer built for reggae, dub, dancehall and sound system music. It has 128 MB of memory, ships with 400+ handcrafted instruments and sounds, eight remixable artist tracks and the supertone synth engine with bass, lead and dub siren presets, and runs on four AAA batteries or USB-C.
Play the 12 pressure- and velocity-sensitive pads, sample your own sounds through the built-in microphone or 3.5 mm input, and build grid-synced loops into patterns and scenes. The supertone engine includes a set of pressure-sensitive dub sirens.

What makes the EP-40 Riddim different from the EP-133 K.O. II?
The sounds and the memory. Both have the same 9.45 x 6.93 in body, 12 pressure-sensitive pads, built-in mic, MIDI, sync and USB-C, and both run on four AAA batteries. The EP-40 adds 128 MB of memory loaded with 400+ reggae, dub and dancehall sounds, eight artist tracks to remix and the supertone dub siren synth. The EP-133 K.O. II we stock is the 64 MB general-purpose sampler.
Can I use my own samples on the EP-40?
Yes. Record through the built-in microphone or the 3.5 mm input, or transfer samples from a computer over USB-C.
Does the EP-40 Riddim run on batteries?
Yes. It runs on four AAA batteries, or on USB-C power at 5 V and at least 1 A.
What goes with the EP-40 Riddim?
For vocals, add the EP-2350 FX mic, which has echo, spring, pixie and robot voice effects and a 3.5 mm line output. The Riddim shoulder bag has pockets made for the EP-40 and the EP-2350, and the EP-136 K.O. Sidekick mixes it with a second device.
