What can the OP-1 Field do?
It is a complete portable studio: play the 12 synth engines and the drum machine, record into the 4-track tape, mix down, and listen through the built-in speaker, all on battery. It also receives and transmits FM radio and connects to computers and MIDI gear over USB-C or Bluetooth.
How long does the OP-1 Field battery last?
About 24 hours per charge, according to Teenage Engineering.
OP-1 Field or OP-XY?
The OP-1 Field is built around its 4-track tape recorder and 12 synth engines, adds an FM radio, and runs about 24 hours per charge. The OP-XY is built around a 16-track, 64-step sequencer with 24-voice multitimbral synthesis, a 2-octave keyboard and a multi-out jack for MIDI, CV and gate, and runs about 16 hours. Pick the OP-1 Field for recording and sound design, the OP-XY for sequencing and controlling other gear.
Does it work with the TX-6 and TP-7?
Yes. They are all part of Teenage Engineering's field system: plug the OP-1 Field into a TX-6 channel to mix it, or into a TP-7 jack to record it.
What protects the OP-1 Field?
The Decksaver cover for the OP-1 Field and OP-XY protects the keys and controls.
