Beta 87A Supercardioid Condenser Performance
The SLXD2+ handheld transmitter features the Shure Beta 87A electret-condenser capsule, delivering a wide 117 dB dynamic range and handling SPL levels up to 140 dB. Its smooth frequency response includes a gradual presence rise and controlled proximity effect tailored for vocals, while the supercardioid pickup pattern enhances isolation from background noise and provides excellent gain before feedback. When paired with an SLX-D+ receiver, the SLXD2+ delivers transparent 24-bit digital audio with greater than 118 dB dynamic range and a wide tuning bandwidth of up to 138 MHz (regionally dependent), supporting reliable operation and high channel counts in dense RF environments.
Remote Control, Capsule Flexibility, and Secure Power Options
ShowLink Ease enables real-time, two-way communication between the transmitter and a compatible SLX-D+ receiver via BLE, allowing remote adjustment of frequency, RF power, and control locks, as well as interference mitigation and over-the-air firmware updates—without handling the microphone. The interchangeable capsule design supports additional Shure options including the Shure Beta 58A, Shure SM58, Shure KSM8, Shure Nexadyne 8/S, and Shure Nexadyne 8/C for tailored sonic performance. The system supports AES-256 encryption for secure transmission and operates for up to 8 hours on two AA batteries or an optional SB903 lithium-ion rechargeable battery, with precise runtime metering available when used with compatible charging accessories.
